How to Get Apple ID Password Reset?

Author:Jake | TIME:September 20,2017

An Apple ID is the user name for everything you do with Apple: download apps from Apps Store, purchase music and videos from iTunes Store, backup device to iCloud and so on. I had an awful experience of restoring my iPhone 6 Plus from iCloud backup when I forgot Apple password. And, just as you can imagine, I could not restore the iCloud backup to my new iPhone.

Nevertheless, forgetting Apple password is the last thing you ever want to suffer from. If you forgot Apple ID and password, how did you solve that or did you just give up on that? Of course, you would like it to be solved. In general, your Apple ID and iCloud share the same associated email and password. And this article shows you how to get your Apple ID Password Reset.

Step 1: Go to My Apple ID page

Open your browser and navigate to My Apple ID page of Apple’s official website. Click "Reset your password" in the "Manage your Apple ID" panel.

Step 2: Input Apple ID

Now input your Apple ID (which is the email address associated with your account) and Click the "Next" button.
Note: If forget your Apple ID, click on the "Forgot your Apple ID" button to fill in the table with some information they require, Apple will help you find your Apple ID.

Step 3 Select an authentication method

There are two ways for you to reset Apple ID password: Email authentication or Answer security questions. In general, Email authentication is recommended because if you forgot Apple ID password, it’s very unlikely for you to answer the three or more security questions.

Step 4: Apple ID password Reset via Email link

Now go to your associated email and check the mailbox. Open the password reset email sent by Apple Inc. Once you click the "Reset now" link, you will be directed to Apple.com where you can input your new password. After that, click “Confirm” and then click the "Reset Password" button.

Note: For security, it is better that your new Apple ID password contain lower and capital letter, number, with the maximum of 8 characters.

After all above is done, you will receive an email from Apple telling you the Apple ID password has been successfully reset. And when you use your iPhone, iPad or Mac, you will be required to input the new password to login your Apple account.

Things go well, you will get your Apple ID password reset without too much trouble.
